Supporting black-owned businesses
As Black History month ends, we want to highlight a few of our partners and encourage support and patronage, not only during this month but all year round.
Coffee for the Culture. The founders of Black Drip Coffee, Charon Thompson and Dan Smith, have created a coffee brand that is a staple of our Kansas City community. Black Drip was born in 2020 and fueled by a desire to support the underserved minority business owners here in Kansas City. 10% of all proceeds goes back to Porterhouse KC, an organization that provides the tools and resources for entrepreneurs to grow and thrive in under-served and underrepresented local communities.
Kinship Cafe is a black-owned specialty coffee shop based in Kansas City, Kansas. It’s a place that promotes equity for all, and functions as a resource space after-hours for community members. As a small business, Kinship Cafe carries out its ethical standards through locally sourced and black-owned products and provides an opportunity to find new resources in the KCK community.
Grab one of their specialty flash cold brew or try one of their delicious wraps, like the Smoked Hot Buffalo Chicken Wrap or the Kale Yeah! Wrap.
