As Black History month ends, we want to highlight a few of our partners and encourage support and patronage, not only during this month but all year round.
Black Drip
Coffee for the Culture. The founders of Black Drip Coffee, Charon Thompson and Dan Smith, have created a coffee brand that is a staple of our Kansas City community. Black Drip was born in 2020 and fueled by a desire to support the underserved minority business owners here in Kansas City. 10% of all proceeds goes back to Porterhouse KC, an organization that provides the tools and resources for entrepreneurs to grow and thrive in under-served and underrepresented local communities.

Kinship Cafe
Kinship Cafe is a black-owned specialty coffee shop based in Kansas City, Kansas. It’s a place that promotes equity for all, and functions as a resource space after-hours for community members. As a small business, Kinship Cafe carries out its ethical standards through locally sourced and black-owned products and provides an opportunity to find new resources in the KCK community.

The Black Pantry
Looking for a one stop shop to support Black-owned small businesses? Look no further than The Black Pantry. A premium brand shop that sources and curates quality products from Black-owned businesses across the nation. Founded in 2020 as an opportunity to support Black businesses, now three years later they’ve built a brand with a space in Martini Corner, host various events, pop-ups, and continue growing their mission of supporting Black businesses with over 200+ products carried.

The Prospect
A culinary social enterprise, Prospect KC is for social equality, across all things food - culinary education and culinary access. Prospect KC supports individuals of disenfranchised communities with nutritional education, kitchen culinary training, and culinary entrepreneurship support. They offer a variety of initiatives and ways to support, through donations or volunteering.

District Biskuits
Are you ready for the best breakfast sandwich and biscuit you’ve ever had? Run, don’t walk, to District Biskuits for your next breakfast, lunch, or a sweet treat. Created in 2017, founder Guruox began perfecting District Biskuits as a pop-up sensation, and recently opened their official brick-and-mortar in December 2022 in North KC. Their menu boasts a variety of delicious biscuit breakfast sandwiches all named after local KC spots, along with classics like Biskuits + Gravy and Jumbo Tenders.
