Why we love this

Grapefruit provides a clear, citrus-driven acidity, bringing brightness and structure to the cup. A subtle Date-like sweetness softens the edges and adds depth, while the warm, silky texture of Brown Butter brings balance and a gentle, rounded richness. Medium-bodied, with a composed balance of sweetness, acidity, and a delicate, lingering fruit bitterness.

Processing Natural
Varietal Bourbon

This coffee comes from Burundi’s Muyinga Province, where winding mountain roads disappear into mist, and rain can transform passages into impassable trails. It’s in a remote part of Burundi, at least a six-hour drive from Bujumbura, Burundi’s largest city. JNP Coffee discovered this washing station, consisting of about 2,000 farmers, during the 2021 harvest season. They currently only produce Natural coffees but are building a wet mill for future fully washed coffees.

About Hafi

The name, “Hafi,” meaning “close” in Kirundi, was given to this coffee for the profound impact proximity has on quality. Before this washing station opened, local farmers faced an arduous 20-kilometer trek through challenging hill country to reach the nearest processing facility, a journey that often stretched beyond a single day.
